Hands-on physiotherapy treatment

About us

A small team who take your recovery personally.

Since 2009, this practice has run on one belief: individual care — a comprehensive assessment, a clear diagnosis, and a treatment plan built for you, not for the average patient.

Julia Gane, founder of Cape Town Physiotherapy

The founder

Julia Gane —
from Oxford to the Waterfront.

Julia graduated with Honours in Physiotherapy from UCT in 2003, then spent three years at the prestigious Manor Hospital in Oxford, working alongside some of England's best orthopaedic surgeons on shoulder, hip, knee and back patients — before and after surgery. While in England she completed the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute courses in London.

Back in Cape Town, she worked at the renowned Sports Science Institute in Newlands while earning her year-long postgraduate diploma in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. In 2009, she opened this practice.

Julia is a keen listener first and a clinician second-to-none after that: pinpoint the problem, then give the best form of treatment — hands-on, rehabilitation, or both. She's also a lactation specialist, an avid runner, and a mom of three boys.
